The President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, inaugurated the Department of Travel and Aviation Services at the College of Tourism Sciences at the University of Kerbala.
Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali stated, “The opening of this significant and essential department is one of the key steps in implementing the vision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to advance the academic and professional outcomes of our university.” He added that the College of Tourism Sciences is one of the most prominent colleges at our university and will play a crucial role in preparing specialized human resources to meet the demands of the labor market, particularly in the aviation sector. This is particularly important with the upcoming opening of Kerbala International Airport, which will necessitate highly skilled and competent professionals.”.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Tourism Sciences, Dr. Salam Al-Asadi, explained that “the Department of Travel and Aviation Services will mark a qualitative leap in enhancing the status of the College of Tourism Sciences as a source of knowledge and education. It is the culmination of continuous efforts made by the college and a strategic vision aimed at keeping pace with modern developments and responding to labor market needs.”
Dr. Al-Asadi also pointed out that “the opening of the department came through diligent efforts by specialists with expertise in shaping the general policy for the tourism sector.”
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a group of college deans, department heads, faculty members, employees, and students.
